It is illegal to cycle while drunk or under the influence of drugs in the UK. If you cannot cycle correctly after drinking, or do not have control of the bike then you would be guilty of drunk cycling. The maximum penalty for cycling while drunk is a £1,000 fine. However, the fine can be as much as £2,500 if you are charged with dangerous cycling.
